Visions

What is Beauty?

Old faces,
lines etched
by kindness-
Who says wrinkle are ugly?

A mother bending
over her child,
straightening her hair
so she will look nice.

A woman on the telephone
fighting to see her aged grandmother
gets a fair settlement
from her insurance company.

Love shining through the eyes
of a very plain girl,
her face lights like a winter dawn
dispelling the cold and dark!

Beauty not so much,
fair of face, but shining forth
from the depths of the soul
radiating from within!
