God Cares
Playing in the snow,
a little eight year old girl,
malnutrition evident
in her overly pale cheeks,
wearing a thin, ragged coat,
a patched skirt,
shoes worn out at the soles,
she has a kitten snuggled in her arms,.
How wonderful in her drear world,
to find love and companionship.
Does God see? Does God care?
Yes! He sent his only Son into the world,
humble and poor, to suffer and die.
for our salvation,
to be a light to them
who sit in darkness
to guide our feet into the way of peace.
He sent his disciples
to clothe the naked and feed the hungry,
to preach the Gospel of Truth and Hope.
And those concerned
about people like this little girl
should believe his Gospel
and participate in his ministry.
