Visions

Snowy Woods

The wood is covered deep in snow
and every branch is bending low,
etched with white is every tree,
exquisite patterns for all to see.

All muffled in silence is the scene,
all bright and sparkling and serene.
Is such beauty all happenstance?
is everything only mindless chance?

Does such loveliness show the hand
of Him who designed and planned
Who set the starry heavens alight
and ordained the world by sovereign might?

Thank you, Jesus, our incarnate Lord
accomplishing all, the living Word
behind flaming suns and freezing snow
we see Thy wonders where'er we go.
