~~~ Life's White Knuckle Ride ~~~
Shadows at first glance seem ok
To hide behind, and sneak away
But shadows although dark, are thin
Like the waves that come crashing in
Everything has a beginning
Even love, hate, goodness and sin
And when those waves form a tide
We step aboard
 life’s great, white knuckle ride.
To embrace the light you must be brave
Leave it all behind in the cave
Smell, sight, touch and sound
Were always there, but could not be found
For what is dark is another’s light
Within our world we have day and night
Knowledge is sometimes mistaken for pride
In life’s great, white knuckle ride
The shadows that we saw within our cave
Our chains, that made us a slave
Never seeing the truth in our mind
It left us, muted, scared, and blind
The light that we knew was always there
A truth that was too much to bare
So we do, what we do best, run and hide
Enjoying the thrill,
of life’s white knuckle ride.
