Did my eyes deceive me, was I dreaming
Had the sky become a whispery green
Did the sea really turn a regal purple and
Tall trees stood columns of cream
Had colour blinded my vision
Were tricks being played in my mind
Stone walls had become transparent
I was tied with invisible binds
You stood there in the faraway distance
Waving and calling my name
But I could neither reach you nor touch you
Miles and inches seemed the same
No longer eyes of blue, green and brown
Silver lasers were now the norm
Strolling through mists of turquoise whilst
Rich red was the colour of dawn
We see all the normal things we are used to
And yet we don’t really see them at all
They appear and we take them for granted
Notice the difference no matter how small
