 POETICAL ME

The Hound

Beneath armor there lies within
A man, turned beast of many sins
His role to guard a pompous King
This King who thinks of Hound nothing

The Hound at beckon call would serve
As a foot stool while undeserved
Insults came for no good reason
Reacting to was seen as treason

He left Kingdom as war would break
Between armies and so would take
His leave this night as courage left
A heart that served with much regret

His time had come to be alone
Like dog that runs away from home
To wander off without direction
Reminded of his imperfections

Though trails many he faced and passed
Today alone his shadow casts
A better man now on his own
A slave no more his soul condoned

Inspired by the HBO Series “Game of Thrones“
