Skies have darkened & the rain scattered
Love is lost and no longer matters
Laying down in the field of madness
Tears of hate, yet cuts of sadness
Bleak eyes caught searching the clouds
Asking angels to send them down
Yet only silence is the reply
As the heart screams slowly, "Why, oh why?"
Flashbacks and faces fill their head
Red to black roses descend to the dead
Hands are held and prayers are said
Yet every heart is turned to lead
Morning never simply came
The sun hidden by the rain
Numbness finally overrides the pain
For love is lost and purpose slain
Next to the tombstone the person prays
Wishing for only a few more days
To look them into their worried eyes
And ask the question,
"Why do you want to die?"
