Once upon a time of then remains
As happy was and so sustained
A child once then of much pretend
At times still sought when time does lend
We donned our capes of color red
Flew through great winds where villains fled
A princess yours would call your name
To slay Red dragons, and claimed your fame
For those of you who played with dolls
Porcelain or plastic you'd show then how
You'd be mother to child your own
As close you watched, absorbed at home
You'd put out fires with garden hose
Ran with your dog sidekick you chose
No one would dare to rain upon
Your then parade of days by gone
Strollers many you'd push around
As time ticked by babe safe and sound
You'd change chic hat to nurse's cap
As rocked to sleep sick doll to nap
You trade kisses with then your crush
Shared too all things for they meant much
Your heart would race each time you drew
Etched names on trees of them and you
You'd reach to skies to catch a star
To wish upon to them now far
For it was here where all things good
Still stand today and understood
Then as once, upon a time
Beckons all things of heart and mind
