With deafening silence, muted screams begin
Struggling to take, in a full breath
insides a raging inferno
fate worse than death
To find that release, too much to ask
sanity slips from the tight grasp
Illusion of control, all that has passed
While judgement defiantly stands amassed
Drifting inside, lost in own head
never wanting to feel nurtured, starved for affection instead
Crippled of emotions, numb to the rest
Indifference masked, beast inside repressed
Dormant for now, lying in wait
an instance of weakness, by then it's too late
Consumed from the inside, why do you keep yourself hidden
So much more satisfying, biting into all that's forbidden
