It takes quiet moments to capture memories past
Our hearts treasure visions which linger to the last
This time and place is special, held tight in our grip
Of a Hero not forgotten on his last fateful trip
We travel back in history to very troubled times
When our world was not peaceful torn by vicious crime
A war was the last solution, the old and young would die
Our Hero joined the battle but was shot down from the sky
His name is carved in history, "Mr. Cassian Henry Waight"
He felt his call to duty, his need to serve was great
He carried into battle his brother's farewell words
You fight the war out yonder I'll fight it from Fort Point.'
So fearless was his courage he did not shirk command
Together with his comrades they fought to the last man
On that dreadful mission as he pommeled down to earth
His prayer was to be cradled by God who gave him birth
