This place of yesteryear once reigned
Inside a heart that fast became
Yielding to cause not of its own
Fading as time, time too disowned
Each second seemed a need to be
Alive with thoughts, crystal clearly
But age crept up and sight was loss
Of things that now paint but remorse
A smile that made your everyday
A pause to hold rewound and played
Such were the days of great reward
In passing heard, in mind still stored
Here beneath the vine that grows
Lay precious thoughts securely stowed
As pulled away this branch of time
Allowed to be of then, of mine
A chance to breathe my yesterdays
As such was life and too what plays
On mind and soul and breath one holds
To live for then, the now proposed
Like a book you read on through
To never reach the end days drew
To be today if just once more
These things you stored, just past hearts door
