Poetic Verses
The Teacher
Here it is time to celebrate another father's day
And in the process one should of that field try to survey
Knowing that the job was not easy but too some grit and determination
That helped out in ways to get somewhere near an acceptable conclusion
When I got that news was given to me about my imminent paternity
The n feeling was mixed as there were plans made most exclusively
But in my personality was that if something happened to change circumstances
That I will make every effort possible to bear and accept the consequences
Therefore this called for some life changing plans and to restructure
And this will include some special people as part of my future
From that day the moment in time seeing those little eyes looking up at me
How such joy and protective nature certainly came over me instantly
There were times when my back was certainly against that proverbial wall
Not being in such a good financial position even if there was a fall
Bur no matter the situation made me at times double my effort
And I sort of remember those days of my father and that gave that support and comfort
In dealing with situation with children can present some times of challenges
And just like we all did they thought that I came big onto life stages
But what a revelation when it was to them and that show of surprise
When I told them that what they were doing was not new to my eyes
Many times I just took as step back and decided to listen
What learning there can be had having a conversation with one's children?
But as one listens the mind is painting a picture so that one can effectively
Come to a decision that both sides can see that there is some harmony
But look back over times I am glad that I made such a decision
To shoulder my responsibility and be determined in my mission
Now I can see the results of years of joy and tear raising my children
There is that sense of happiness that they are responsible citizens
But what I know helped me through those times
Were lots of those teaching from my father came to my mind
So I was grateful to be privilege to be such a very good teacher
Whose curriculum went a long way in lighting my path as father?
