A Salutation To Shayne

Dealing with death is always hard
But something we must do
Yet it’s always termed a tragedy
When one dies as young as you

You were so full of life and love…
Just a joy to be around…
Filled with merriment and mirth…
Always played the part of clown.

How sad that laughter turned to tears…
That you could no longer cope…
How sad that no one realized
You had erased all hope.

Your death brought on such deep despair…
And even, now, today
Sadness steals in to recall
How you just slipped away.

It broke your dad and mother’s heart
It so hurt your family.
Without God’s Mercy and His Grace
How heartbreaking would this be.

Today we’ll light a candle, Shayne…
We’ll bow our heads in prayer.
We will remember you and send
Our hugs and kisses over there.

~~Author’s Note~~
Within days after losing my husband,
I lost my nephew…sorrow rained down…

Romans 8:38-39
For I am sure that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things
to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything
else in all creation, will be able to separate us from
the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
