The Cost
What great amusement to be derived when listening to a politician
Whilst going about the country on that trail of campaigning
And one of the things well enforced as a keynote when speaking
That when elected he will work vehemently to reduce the cost of living
The electorate looking for any hope and they have such expectations
Will bear out their sentiments by the way they vote in the elections
And now especially being under the burden of the crippling recession
Would welcome anything that could affect a change in the situation
It is quite clear that no country can exist in the proverbial vacuum
And so there is not place that from any problems have an exemption
So they have to survive by those activities of exporting or importing
Hence the level of duties will have a say in the consumer's pricing
But as members of the population we too should certainly understand
That our tastes may be a great contributor to that growing problem
As in our very preference there is that favorable slant towards foreign goods
Therefore that increase cost should be something accepted and understood
In an era where people are expecting to have a better standard of living
Then that cost attached to quality would be an expensive undertaking
But is somehow boggles the mind that a very overworked cliché
Can still be effective on so many professed to be intelligent people today
But what they can be done that will be of some alleviation
Is to put certain goods under some form of tariff reduction
Goods like those food stuffs especially the ones used quite regularly
This would certainly be a step in a direction that would be marked positively
