Swinging on swings my brother and I,
were just having fun in the afternoon sun.
We were just wee ones of five and six,
having no idea our lives were about to be transfixed.
Looking way up into the sky,
we saw a wonderful cloud that was passing by.
Child like innocence and with our minds opened wide,
we knew that it was our Grandma coming to say her goodbye.
We jumped off the swings so happy and full of glee,
to quickly get Mommy and Daddy to come out and see,
For up in the clear blue sky what we saw, was
Grandma as a cloud smiling down to say her goodbye.
Mommy who loved us with all of her heart,
decided her babies were too young to deal with Grandma's final depart.
We were told she went to heaven, but what they didn't know,
was that even children need someway of letting go.
