Visions

A Poem about Judy Collins

Singing Wild Mountain Thyme
around the blooming Heather,
her rich, beautiful voice
soars to the heavens!
The internal rhythm of the words,
the internal rhythm of the music,
her perfect body movements,
all three together as one!
Her lovely face,
striking blue eyes,
high cheekbones
perfect jaw line
and flowing tresses
all fitly framed together!
That haunting music
speaking of the longing,
the unfulfilled aspirations
of the human heart,
transporting me utterly,
moving me to tears
as a wonderful performance
often does.
Why do I want to
run up on the stage
and give her a big hug?
