The very thought becomes dry spell
A travesty, a gain for Hell
As branches dry and fall this day
Broken limbs that fell away
Limbs all blessed but chose to die
Die while Heavens heartfelt cried
Calling once more to live and spread
His message clear, five thousand fed
He laid out plans before His hands
Became impaled for every man
Out stretched arms that came to be
The sign of love, for man to see
Upon a tree the vine became
Our starting point, taking our blame
For every sin He would account
Upon body, countless amount
The wounds became of what endured
To birth the branch and reassure
Apart from Him we cannot be
Children born of Him, set free
Dear branch near fall that dies this day
That fails to know or hear The Way
It need not be, for you were made
To live forever, not pass but saved
