Poison Ivy
Toxic vine, obnoxious weed,
I see how quickly you breed
and spread across my yard.
I watch how swiftly you grow,
getting my sprayer, letting it blow.
Can you dig it I said, "Enguard!"
Sitting here drinking my tea,
'neath the shade of this here tree,
ivy turning a sickly shade of brown.
Smile to myself and say, "Well done,"
blowing the end of my spray gun,
wilted tendrils of ivy melting down.
For my grandsons :)
