The Old Farm House

The old farm house had been deserted for years.
A family which now owned the place took a drive there to see it.
Approaching the house they spotted an old windmill.
The spokes were missing and hardly turned.
The lady of the house had opened the window to the kitchen.
She had been preparing some apple pies.
Setting the pies in the window, she let them cool.
The smell had drifted from the window to the barn where the family was at the time.
They couldn't wait to get to the pies.
The man of the house dived right into one of the pies.
Being there to cut the pie, the lady of the house took over.
The children were up in arms of wanting their pieces.
Carlota had given them each a piece where they took off with it and ran to the barn.
Then the rains came and ruined the whole day.
They were back on their way to their home away from the old farm house.
