Visions
Lost Love
Two star crossed lovers,
Josh and Holly,
sneaking away from their
bitter enemy parents,
meeting in a beautiful
parklike area
where flowers sprung up
from nowhere and
holly grew abundantly,
as if God had created
an Eden just for them.
But alas, one day,
as they planned to elope,
the angry, hate filled father
burst upon them
ignoring their pleas
shot her young lover
right through the heart.
He crumpled dead at her feet.
Holly, in a daze, wandered about
weeping incessantly.
The following day
she returned to the spot
killing herself.
And that day all the
holly and the flowers died,
the earth cracked open,
and for a year nothing
grew on that spot.
The following Spring,
two weeping willows
resided side by side on there
rippling springs emerged
and grass sprang up
from the scorched earth.
On the the anniversary,
in the misty moonlight,
Josh can be heard
calling for Holly
who sits under one
of the willow trees
weeping for her lost love.
