Mistakes I've made the price I've paid
Made my bed so I love where I lay
Even though the process is sometimes delayed
With a plethora of entrees on my plate I have to make sure
I'm left with enough bread to sop up the gravy;
Mistakes I've made in the games I've played
Slayed the wicked before they raised their legs to kick it,
Fought off the demons trying to inject me with their poisonous venom
By all means necessary gave my worries to the Ultimate Creator;
Mistakes I've made so my path has been paved
Laid in still waters got baptized and saved
But I remained captive locked and chained,
For plenty years I've known the truth,
Gone against the grain trying to avoid the knot of the noose
Bought the con-artist's story attempting to warp to the glory,
But found out quick that shortcuts end life swift;
Mistakes I've made,
Bent knees I've repent
now my survival is all thanks to the gift…
