Pride precedes a disaster,
And is very destructive;
Downfall can happen faster,
And be very disruptive.
Pride can just be plainly rude,
The smug looks that you will see;
An arrogant attitude,
That is boastful as can be.
Much better to be humble,
With all the lowly people;
Than to complain and grumble,
Rather think of the Gospel.
Whoever gives attention,
Unto the Word of the Lord;
Prospers from comprehension,
And requests never ignored.
Blessed is whoever trusts,
They will be filled with His love;
And not tempted by the lusts,
That Satan displays thereof.
The one who is truly wise,
Understands and speaks sweetly;
Helping them learn through his eyes,
Comprehending completely.
Perceptions are streams of life,
That are flowing through the mind;
Helping you to cope with strife.
To remain gentle and kind.
The heart of the wise control,
The speech and what you will say;
If His Spirit in your soul,
Then you shall trust and obey.
