Visions
View From An Airplane
A great, vast panorama
of desert, mountains
and ocean of
blue and green,
black and gold,
the froth of the waves
receding back and back
like ranks of marching soldiers.
A red city lighting
like a multicolored Christmas tree
as the shadows lengthen
and night descends.
The stars come out
like jewels set
in a velvet curtain.
How wonderful to
view the world
as the soaring eagles
have always done
or a songbird
climbing into the sky
to sing an ecstatic song of joy
rejoicing in God's glorious Creation!
