When You See Me...
When you see me
And ask me
Why are you
So nice to me?
Why do you
Treat me kindly
When everyone else
Treats me like garbage?
I respond by saying
You my friend are
Seeing Christ in me
And His ever lasting love!
When you ask me
Why am I so different
From the rest of the
People you have met?
My friend I tell you
It's from the loving personality
God has given me to be
A blessing to others!
When you see me
You see the love of Christ
Through me!
When you ask me
Why I chose above anyone else?
My friend God has called me
To cross paths with you.
As to why it must have been
For reasons you have needed to see for many years.
When you see me
You ask me
Why become friends
With me in the first place?
Friends I must tell you
God brought us together.
When you see me
You see Christ through me.
Some days when you see me
And I still care but am broken
You see the person
Who resembles a similar you.
When you see me
And I am broken
You see the me
Who has been burried
Deep within me.
This person who seems so happy
Was once so broken....
So broken she was
At a breaking point in her life.
When you see me
You don't see the old me
The me who has been
Hurt so deeply....
When you see me
You don't realize
I had a wall up
As a barrier to protect myself.
When you see me
You may think
There is a perfect girl
In front of you
But I must inform you
You are sadly mistaken
Because I am not perfect
I have been broken
Several times over.
Andyet the girl/women you see
Is the women who
Has been transformed
By the grace of God.
When you see me now
Maybe you can
See the me who
Has surrendered herself
And has been redeemed
By the blood of the Lamb...
This Lamb named Jesus
Has brought me out
Of a great depression
(And he will for you as well)
And he has given me
The gift to love,
Maybe even more so than others.
When you see me
Maybe you will see me
In a new light
Now that you know
Just a part of the
Girl who has been hurt in life.
When you see me
Maybe you can smile and
Think what God
Can do for you as well.
