I Once Was Blind But Now I See
Hear the Sound of the Whippoorwill
Immeasurably does the sound of the whippoorwill bless.
For the sound is something heard within the nighttime.
It is a blessing from the Lord Jesus; in having the bird sing.
I have never had the privilege of hearing a whippoorwill.
But I can imagine the beauty of their song is something to be treasured.
Hear the sound of the whippoorwill and know the Lord made it happen.
A nocturnal songbird native to North America is what I am speaking.
Ever be mindful to praise the Lord for the sound you hear.
For, in my way of thinking, it is a unique sound and not heard during the day.
I can't imagine having a bird who will only sing during the evening.
But then again, this is the Lord's wish and not man's.
Enjoy the sound you hear and know it maybe for you they are singing.
