With coffee made right by my hand
Camel cigarette smoking in the ashtray
Hot coffee
Warm smoke
Piano playing in your poetry
I am taken to another life
Where Knights and Ladies
Consort to mischief
On rainy Saturday nights
Stolen away
From the pain of this world
Only God knows what I think
Before I read the new poetry
Of those so dear to my soul
I can spot their poetry a mile away
By title
I know
It's your poem
Taking coffee
Sitting down
You bring me peace
After the end of a busy day
I like it that way.
