A Christmas I Spent Alone

This particular Christmas was a lonely one.
For my parents had traveled to the west and had seen my other relatives.
I was left alone; at the house to spend the holidays by myself.
I was contented; though I was lonely.
The only one who came to see me was my sister-in-law.
She had a gift for me and was so good to me that she stayed for a while.
I was made happy in that the house was to myself.
There were no others around me; at the time.
I will always remember this one for it was where I had no one to be close to and did feel alone.
The Lord kept watch over me and nothing ever happened.
I praise the Lord for that being true.
It was one of three Christmases I had to spend alone.
