Last month I had one day training in balancing
Laid foundation for the PR bank transitioning
With keying outsourced our work decreased
But God’s timing and blessings never cease
Last Monday five of us had one training session
In the afternoon with opportunities for questions
Separate room computer screen projected on wall
Easier to follow instructor with monitors for us all
Some of my readers may be asking what is balancing
It involves the process of debit and credit reconciling
Any amounts keyed wrong are corrected on the screen
Other errors require an adjustment explaining the reason
Since outsourcing has taken over all the keying recently
Balancers log their mistakes on a sheet turned in daily
That is an extra step which can be rather time consuming
But important for management to see by quality checking
Adjustments over a certain amount need second signature
Those are logged on a sheet for audit purposes in the future
Otherwise the adjustment can be entered on the computer
Classified by type of error if it is by customer or bank teller
Learning balancing has given us enough work to do
But any extra hours remain on an as needed basis too
This Tuesday is one such example after Veterans Day
The 15th is busy in PR so might also be chance Friday
I agreed to cover a 4-6 hour shift Nov 30th on Saturday
Right now pending additional training per email Friday
I certainly understand the concerns of night supervisor
God will take care of scheduling and approval by her
