FADE TO BLACK
That's me
beneath the glitter
just over there
moving in that corner
Blink your eyes
A wrinkle in time
paused and extracted
Memory cliché
Elastic glory
Salt water tears
and she sang:
"tasting halleluiah"
I am that chapel
the church atop that hill
where an emerald meadow rests below
The concrete is numbing
Where is this juice of life
breakfast with turmoil
Hanging upside down
risking it all
Winter roses
climbing their lattice
and I am entangled
below their milky root
I will have stood
inside the crease of time
reaching for twig's and stems
The dove of light
has [PAUSED]
I lift an olive branch
she obliges
The lake broke it's mirror
when the earth trembled
and I dropped my blind stare
All is still and noisy
the orphans will always cry
and those thrown away babies
I wear an cosmetic face
beneath a tarnished crown
living below the transients
below those old bones of people
I see all their roots
The many masks
I've sculpted and etched
the perfect soul
that I wished to be
She walks into the storm
revealing an unfading courage
It's not that simple
contamination
I am but a congested jester
A pallet of crimson and gray
An ashtray full of burnt moments
A crinkle cut minute
suffering the lack of
emotional resources
"SUSPENDED"
That's me in the corner
beneath the glitter
...don't come any closer
