Christmas Tide

Christmas came like snowballs rolling down hill
Music and laughter crescendo its end
Anticipation surrenders it's fill
In hearts filled with love intending to send
the children to lay down their sleepy heads
With satisfaction they head to their dreams
while the magic still lingers above their beds
The others are missing something, it seems
They wonder why in such hurry it's gone
The merry making to be so fleeting
Here I, one of the others, at dawn
Anticipation the Christ child's greeting
The snowball effect of this Christmas tide
Leaving me both happy and sad inside
