 Seasonal Hope
I gaze at your calm face
With these melancholic eyes
I caught a glimpse of summer
Yet autumn came by surprise
I watched your spirit shatter
And loving you I tried
But my arms were too weak
So out of them you pried

For me stars were never gold
Just a wavering black sky
A place for dreamers to escape
So they didn't have to hide
That was my happy place
I was yours, you were mine
You were the real constellation
The true beauty of the night

With every passing season
I still can hear you cry
Your face becoming lonely
With every breaking sigh
Even when you resist my heart
I will love you every time
Maybe I can mend the parts
The world broke on the inside

So let me see you in the spring
I want to see hope bloom
Let me see you in the summer
Laughing in the mid-June
Show me a peaceful autumn
Where the leaves fall, not you
And even when the winter comes
You'll have me and I'll have you
