'' Never Try To Excuse ''
What your preference is I couldn't care less,
That should be your business alone,
Why do you allow it to create such a mess?
Is it so wrong you need to atone?
If I like beans does that mean you should too,
Why can't you like spaghetti instead?
Your choice in food doesn't cause me ado,
I love baguettes why can't you like bread.
The clothes I wear are entirely my choice,
I don't really give a damn what you think,
You are who you are take time to rejoice,
Our attitudes need a major rethink.
I like a large car while you prefer small,
You love pine while I prefer teak,
We both have the right to stand ten feet tall,
Our character is what makes us unique.
I prefer dogs I know you love snakes,
Does that mean your preference I should hate,
You eat vegetables I totally love steaks,
I'm always early while you're always late.
I would never tell the world about my private affairs,
Yet to do so you think there's a need,
I have no interest in your personal wares,
The pressure only makes your heart bleed.
Making front page headlines in this day and age,
Shows us homophobia is rife,
Why place yourself on the world stage?
For what in essence is your private life.
Choosing a partner is for you to decide,
That is everyone's personal position,
Whoever you choose let no one deride,
It's for you to make that decision.
We are all free spirits so live life with a will,
How we do that is for us to choose,
Not one of us has the right to bear ill will,
Who you are,
