A pocket full of lies

More broken promises unanswered, never questioned
a pocket full of lies keeps the public at bay
a smile for the camera while inside they're laughing
no matter what the consequence they will have their day.

More people suffering no food on the table
though a banquet for our masters ensures their bellies are full
then once more a smile as the cameras flash brightly
away from the suffering of those without food.

More wars created as our resources grow fewer
more hungry mouths that will never be fed
just a pocket full of lies to quieten the masses
till everything we know is already dead!
