WISH YOU WERE HERE By Kathryn Tate Jacoby, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetessktj Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Aching inside,
I reach out to the past
wanting more than anything
to simply
erase it.
That song always
brings thoughts of you
to the forefront
of my mind,
lingering there.
I get up,
moving away from my desk
to gaze out at the winter sun
wishing the day
was finished.
Sighing with regret,
shuffling to the screen,
pressing the play button again
I softly whisper
Happy Valentine's
