WINE AND GATES

Honoring Currency And Precious Stones

the powers that guess
the powers that bless
the powers that west
the powers that hiss

fascination and the stone of a wound charm
of the embarrassment we share, for a shiny pride
at the cost of the seen, the presence of a share in the worth
of a prevailing truth to keep, the story of a smiling and shy...

courage for a sensitive neighbor
the tart envy of disgust and the musty remain
of liberty in a glass bauble, to anger
is the patience of youths to question again

sincerity at walls, of a cost
sticks to stones, maybe a broken home
the theory of a deed, looking a little lost
panic at the slight, of a haunted thumb...

a starry night with your name on it...
her story, the worry of yearning for means of more
his legend, the prayer for a confused need, in the works of an itch
together they make, the neglect of a conscience to war...

humor and the tension of a power
to see in the sea, an image of quiet versus noisome deem
the bird of continue, the future in your how, there
a sneeze with a shrewd side to its avarice, the salt it took to know a swim

finding the far shore, to which we were
the passion of pursuing the night for a collected moon
the pity of candor to the fact, of a cold eye to serve
in the sounds of history to honor, the risk and the ruin?
