Religions have symbols
Of geometric design..
Used to instill and emotional response
from your minds-eye..
Lines of symmetry and lines of confusion..
But yet seeking perfection..
From those who ask questions..
Entered into the hands of the "creator"..
Tell me,"Who has the face of God?"..
For Man made his ego placed it on the table
and painted it with blood..
So we must ask ourselves in kind..
"What and why are we praying for?"
Genuflect and prostrate and as such
what did we all bargain for?
To feel guilty in return to feel
unlikely responsible..
And passionate enough to kill our neighbors..
with tongues as sharp razors--
"Oh, did you hear so and so
did you know what to you know who..?"
Bent minds on bent knees
Excuse me please whilst I trip over your soul..
Brown Betty's are really just apples
Baked in the sun..
Come picnic with me..
I've got some fried chicken
A bottle of wine..and lots of stories to tell..
Of the invention of Heaven and of the Gates of Hell..
Shine as bright as day..
The lies people hold as truth..
And never question and never ask why..
If it's truth that moves you..
It's always kept in the dark..
But I implore you..
It's doubt that spins the Earth--
