Visions

A Glimpse of Beyond

Picture a sweet little
seven year old girl,
pale, sickly,
dying of Leukemia,
two loving parents
who had prayed
at her bedside
for many long years,
carrying a burden in their hearts
like a huge lump of lead
reminding me
of our Christ who wept
for Lazarus sister and friends,
who wept over Jerusalem.
These heartsick parents,
knowing the end was near,
sitting at her bedside.
And then, she sat up saying:
"Oh Mommy look!
Do you see the beautiful angel?
Oh! The singing!
I've never heard
such beautiful singing!"
With that she fell back, passing on.
How comforting in this tragic world
to glimpse the soul of an innocent child
pass through the portals of Heaven!
