Remembering the Days of the Home-cooked Pecan PIes

Years ago there wasn't any convenience stores of any kind.
There wasn't anything instant as they are today.
One such memory was the home-cooked pecan pies mother would make.
Today you can pick them up prepackaged and small.
I love to remember the good ole days when the pies were home cooked.
From scratch the pies were made and so delicious.
The pecans had to be prepared by taking the shell off.
It was something to eat the pecans as you were getting them ready for the pies.
A great spirit of continuity was ours to experience with something like this being done.
Today everything is instant this and that.
Makes you desire to go  back to the old ways of doing things and recapturing the essence  of something so good as the pecan pies.
Smell them cooling; in the window.
See the many pecans on top of the pie.
Knowing as you relive the events of the past it was a better time than today.
