TROUBLE ON FOUR LEGS

TROUBLE ON FOUR LEGS

You haven`t met my tortoise
But I`m sure you`d like to know
That he walks about the garden
There`s no place he doesn`t go.

He doesn`t take the easy path
That`s much too boring for him
He likes to climb obstacles
Regardless of life and limb.

My garden has two levels
Which poses quite a threat
Although he has ramps to help
He`ll not use them you can bet.

He walks to the edge of the step
And takes a look around
Then launches himself right off
Then on his back he`s found.

It`s quicker to take a shortcut
Than to take a safe detour
He does it out of devilment
Of this I`m more than sure.

There`s never a dull moment
He has me in a heap
But when the summer`s over
He simply goes to sleep.
