Visions
The Wisdom of God
There are facts,
there is knowledge
based on facts,
above and beyond this
there is wisdom.
Wisdom is the
combination of all this:
facts, knowledge,
application, experience,
symbolized by gray hairs
for life is short, art is long,
the road to wisdom longer,
few there be who travel on it.
Such is Man's wisdom
but the wisdom of our God
far exceeds ours:
great is the Lord
and His Wisdom Infinite
beyond all that we know
and can comprehend,
His thoughts are not ours,
for He who dwells
above in the heavens,
above this troubled sphere,
His thoughts are higher than ours!
It is for the soul,
the beginning of wisdom
to look up to Him
as a little child who
not able to understand
his parents,obeys them,
knowing they love him
and command
that which is good.
The fool takes no delight
in understanding
but only in expressing foolishness
but happy are those
who take delight in wisdom,
finding it pleasant to their souls!
Great are its rewards
on Earth and in Heaven!
"13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth
understanding.14 For the merchandise of it is better than the
merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.15 She
is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire
are not to be compared unto her.16 Length of days is in her right
hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.17 Her ways are ways
of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.8 She is a tree of
life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that
retaineth her.19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by
understanding hath he established the heavens."
