HOW TO ROPE A STEER

Pictures of cowboy art
Leave us to do the poet part
Of roping words instead of cows
As you teach us the whys and hows

Of the way a cowboy poet does
The mechanics of poetry because
We must get better
To earn the letter

Of being a poet
Don't we know it
So, when it's time
You shut your mouth, forget the rhyme.
