Each morning all through my school days when the school bell rang
one of the students raised the flag outside the school
We would all stand beside our desks - put our hands over our hearts
facing the flag in our classroom
we recited The Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag
We felt a great love for our Country
We were proud to be living in this wonderful land of freedom
Our teachers taught us to love our Country
and to love our neighbors as ourselves
We went to school - did our lessons and obeyed our teachers
If we didn't our parents made sure we did when we got home
We respected them - we had pride in our Country and schools
Life was simple in those days
Students today do not have the love of our country taught to them as we did
It is now considered politically incorrect to voice our love for this country
To love of our neighbor as ourself is not taught as it was back then
I wonder what our forefathers would think of us as a nation today
Would they approve of our removal of God from our school
Life is not so simple as it was in my days of yesteryear
Our freedoms were and are won
by the soldiers who left home and hearth
to go to war to fight and die that we might be free
We learned about the freedoms they won for us in school back then
We now seemly hold these freedoms with careless hand
Are we willing to toss them aside without a thought or care
I pray this is not so - I pray that we in America
will turn back to the ideals we had when I was a school girl
To love God - to love our country - and to love our neighbors as ourselves
freedom is not handed to us on a silver platter
It is bought with the precious blood and lives of our military
May God hover over and protect each of them
We are now on a fast track to a Socialist country
Is this the kind of change that was voted for
I pray the silent majority will wake up before it is to late
If my people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
King James Version
IT IS A GRAND OLD FLAG!
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands.
One nation UNDER GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
You're a Grand Old Flag
by George M. Cohan
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
PLEASE GOD, FORGIVE AMERICA
FOR TURNING AWAY FROM YOU.
FOR ELECTING LEADERS
THAT DO NOT OBEY AND HONOR YOU.
PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON AMERICA.
* Precious days of yesteryear
we laughed - we played
We learned the important lessons of life
To love GOD - to love America - and to love our neighbor as ourself
life was simple in those days
