Visions
The God of Truth
Praise Thee, oh Lord,
Thou Truth that is always true
which endures to all generations!
Thy Truth is the foundation
of all that is worthwhile,
a pure and undiluted elixer,
a satisfying draught for the soul
which longs for that which
Earth, in all its wonders,
can never supply!
When we continue in
Thy Word of Truth,
the truth will make us free!
In every human soul
there is that cavity,
that which only God can satisfy!
Like a man longing for
an oasis in the desert,
like a person going down
for the third and final time
so longs the soul for God, our maker!
Thou awakest us to know Thee
for Thou made us for Thyself
and our hearts are
restless and unfulfilled
till they find their rest in Thee.
