I was feeling empty
With a hint of sad
As I had to look away
From the lines
That held nothing
On A blank
Stark
White
Writing pad..
So
Very
Much
In this house
But nothing in my head?
Thank goodness my pencil is graphite
For I would've been poisoned
From chewing away all the lead..
I longed for that spark
That on more than one occasion
Became a blazing fire..
Of creative
Swirling
Dancing
Whirling words
Leaping
From the dark recesses
Of my mind..
Once mine
To become yours
And the worlds
Words
That prettily arranged themselves
Into something whole..
Sometimes feeling
Wholesome enough to eat
Or deliciously devour
Like a fresh
Warm
Loaf of bread..
But my plate then
Had nothing on it
Not a drop of milk
In a dry glass..
Frustrated
I sighed..
Then began
To count
My many blessings
And realized
Not one tear
Would escape this eye
It will remain dry
(Except for thanks)
Because as I write this
Humbled
I am now on my knees..
In prayer
Over-filled
With gratitude..
For even if the words don't come
I have blessings beyond
Any normal
Human consumption..
So I will turn my face away
From the blank..
And up to the warmth
Of the glorious sun
Honoring the rays
With my never-ending
Thanks..
Holding out my hands
To those fallen down
Remembering
How truly blessed I am..
I shall start
With just a smile on my face
Hopefully to share
All of what I can
Of what was my
Saving grace..
