Visions
Father Abraham
Out of the mists of time,
from Ur of the Chaldees,
Abram, called of God,
renamed Abraham,
father of many.
Abraham who believed
and it was accounted to him
as righteousness
Melchizidek,
king of Salem and priest
of the most high God
blessed him. and
Abram lifted up his heart
unto the Lord,
that most high God,
and in a vision
God promised him,
that though childless at ninety,
he would become
the father of many nations,
his descendants would number
more than the stars of the heavens.
In the Lord's good time,
his aged wife bore Isaac.
And today as there are
over two billion stars
in the Milky way galaxy,
which spreads across
the dark night sky
like a triumphal arch.
So there are
more than two billion
Christians throughout the earth
like a great triumphal arch
shining in the darkness
of this sinful world,
the fulfillment of prophecy,
to guide our feet in the Way of peace!
