Poem 589 – Why the distance with friends? – Written on 4-12-14
Often thinking to myself why the distance?
Why the distance between my friends and I?
Why the distance, Mama K lives one place south
Sissy Bre, lives further northwest
Chris even lives north of me
Betina, lives east of me
Michelle, even lives west of me
Judy, lives south east of me
And yet no one that I am close to
Is even within the same town that I live in
Why the distance of all my friends
Being here, there, and everywhere
Accept for the land in which I reside
Why the distance, has my heart guarded everyone to shield away?
Why the distance, of the friends near to my heart?
