What is holding me back?
Poem 672 – What is holding me back? – Written 8-5-2014
What is holding me back from coming out and singing again?
What is holding me back from sharing my poetry with the world?
What is holding me back from breaking free?
What is holding me back from doing greater things?
What is it that I may be holding on to or that is holding me?
What is holding me back from sharing with the world my God given talent?
Is it rejection or public humiliation or is it both?
All my life I have dealt with both and
It may be possible that I am holding myself back from doing greater things
Due to a lack of confidence in my own writing in my own talents….
Even though I may have had compliments from others
I still lack confidence in my own words, that what is holding me back?
I ask myself what is holding me back
And I have come to realize that it is a combination of things
That I will overcome the rejection, public humiliation, and perfection that lays within
What is holding me back is ultimately fear, that is what it boils down to!
