Pull Up A Rocker

Pull up a rocker if you’re feeling real rough...
If the day has been hard, the decisions been tough.
Let’s talk over tea, and a bite of sweet bread...
Let’s go over God’s goodness and the things He has said.

Did He not say you're the head and never the tail?
That lies would be punished and truth would prevail?
Let’s sit together in the ninety first psalm...
Can you feel the assurance…is your mind growing calm?

We all have those days where we just want to run...
Away from the hurt and the harm that's been done!
Don't want to get up but just lie there in bed...
With the covers protectively pulled over our head!

We think of the times we've turned that other cheek...
Only to be thought of as worthless and weak.
Does God always expect us to be a doormat?
No, I just don't believe that His Word calls for that!

So If you're feeling empty, discouraged, and blue...
The Book of Psalm has an especially Good Word for you...
Covered with all of God's goodness and grace
A table is spread in your enemy's face.

Satisfaction is always accessed in The Christ.
He sends the comfort...His Word holds the advice.
So don't pay attention to the gossip that's spread...
Just keep your focus upon Jesus instead.

Remember, prayer is the key that still opens the door
And you will receive all that you're praying for.
Joy, peace of mind, and the strength to go on...
For you have been promised you won't walk alone.

So pull up a rocker...let's just rock for awhile...
Until we've replaced that frown with a smile.
No, things aren't as bad as the enemy paints
Because God's on your side..YOU are one of His saints.

Psalm 91 King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will
I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Psalm 23 King James Version (KJV)

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
