SEVENTY AND THREE
Now I am seventy and three--
How was that meant to be?
I may claim to be only twenty-seven,
But I know liars won't see heaven.
And when I leave this earthly plane,
I hope to rise for heavenly gain,
I should stop complaints when in pain,
As I can still walk without a cane!
At my old age, my mind may go,
And my old acts no longer know,
So I'll proclaim without a regret
That today's youth is the worst yet!
