Bethlehem
While shepherds watched by night
an angel came in glory bright.
"Fear not!" said he, "Joy I bring,
I tell you of Christ the King.
In Bethlehem Christ is born,
your savior come this holy morn."
A heavenly host burst into sight,
shining forth in splendid light!
Sweetly singing above the plain
their chorus echoing far amain!
"Glory to God! Peace on Earth,
good will to men!Hail His birth!"
"God's herald let us obey,
to David's town go today."
The shepherds cried in one accord
with God's fulfillment of His Word.
Jesus in the manger lay
in swaddling clothes amidst the hay.
The shepherds fell upon their knee
filled with awe this sight to see!
Peace on Earth, good will to men!
Christian hearts lie in Bethlehem.
We also worship and adore
Jesus Christ forevermore!
We welcome His holy birth,
proclaim Him through all the Earth.
a beacon shining amidst the night,
a pure fount of Truth and Light!
